About Us

Meet the AIR team and learn the history behind the company.

The Beginning

In January 1991 Air Power Equipment was founded. Located at 700 Duck Road in Grandview, Missouri, our goal was to represent the Sullair Corporation in the Kansas City area while providing parts and service for all major brands of compressed air equipment.

By the summer of that same year, MediQuip Systems was started as a division of Air Power Equipment, with the objective of providing NFPA99 compliant compressed air and vacuum systems for the medical and dental markets. Also that year, we set up a facility in Little Rock, Arkansas. Our Little Rock branch began as a distributor for CompAir-Leroi compressed air equipment in Northern Arkansas.

Air Power Equipment quickly outgrew the Grandview facility and moved to a more centrally located and much larger facility in Kansas City, Missouri in 1993. In 1995, we opened another office in Omaha, Nebraska with Sullair as the main line. Further expanding our territory, in 1996, we opened offices in Dallas, Texas, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Becoming Air Industrial Resource (AIR)

After expanding into new market areas, it was discovered that there were other companies in our market area that had similar names, or names with the words "Air Power" in them so the decision was made after careful research to choose a more unique name that would not create confusion in the market area. Working backwards from the letters A-I-R, we created the acronym "Air Industrial Resource" and began using that name in 1996.

More Expansion

In 1999, we opened another division of Air Industrial Resource called Air Energy Solutions, a company that focuses solely on energy efficiency audits pertaining to compressed air and vacuum systems. Using the very latest equipment and technologies, Air Energy Solutions is capable of monitoring your plant's daily air usage and providing ideas on ways to conserve energy and maximize the efficiency of your compressed air system. Air Energy Solutions operates separately from Air Industrial Resource and is not tied to any equipment manufacturer. Our Audit group has no responsibility to sell equipment of any kind, allowing the freedom of offering unbiased opinions and recommendations without and underlying agenda of selling you new equipment.

Over the next ten years, as we watched our markets develop, we fine tuned our sales territories to areas that were in need of our services. As of 2006, we are operating out of offices in Kansas City, MO, Tulsa, OK, Oklahoma City, Ok and Dallas, TX.

We also represent Aerzen-USA, which offers blowers, compressors, vacuum pumps and vacuum boosters. Republic Blower Air knives for your drying and chip blowing projects is another complimentary line which offers solutions to inappropriate uses of compressed air.

At present, we represent nearly 30 manufacturers of compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers and complimentary products, and are continuously researching for new ideas and product offerings. We are looking forward to the future and hope to bring the highest quality products and services to our market industry.
